Probably the best built mini copter out here...very cool HeliEnthusiast777 #2010-12-31

Saw these at a Brookstone store at a local mall in my area and found out that they were selling them 2 for $90 so I had to get them. I've shopped around for the best deal and nothing compares to these. They have a unique canopy and lighting system with multi-colored LEDs inside and out. Cool thing is you have the option of turning the flashy lights on/off if you want from the remote control itself. Takes a bit of practice to fly it but once you get the hang of it, its probably the smoothest 3-channel chopper you can get. Has a silent design so its whisper quiet motor and smooth hovering thanks to the built-in gyroscope for assistance. It does pack some power and speed also. The whole kit was packed with plenty of replacement parts in case you crash and damage your blades and etc. Only negative thing about this mini heli package is that it doesn't have a usb charger or wall charger for the heli. Good thing it only takes about 20-30 minutes on average to fully charge its got a range of 80 feet. You need 6-AA batteries for the remote control and the heli uses the controller to charge itself through a connector directly from the controller itself. So in order to charge the heli you drain the controllers batteries. All in all its a great buy if you can get it for $45 a piece like I did as mini helis of this size and build quality go for usually $55-$75 in most malls. I just couldn't pass this up because the canopy looked amazing. I own about 5 other IR (infra-red meaning INDOOR ONLY helis as direct sunlight outside causes interference with the signal rendering them unstable and in operable) helis and some come close but this beats them all out in build quality, attractiveness/appearance, and overall fun-factor. I now own both the Gold and Black Cloud Force helis!

    As a side note:

I own a Syma S107 3 channel mini indoor co-axial metal body helicopter and for some time I considered it the best I could get until I stumbled upon these from Brookstone! If your looking for an alternative to the Cloud Forces I recommend this heli as its just as good but comes with a USB CHARGER so no need to charge from the controller provided, however, you DO have the option to do so from the controller if your away from a pc because it also has a charging connector built into the controller like this Cloud Force heli does.

ALSO REMEMBER THESE ARE INFRA-RED HELIS MEANING THEY ARE MEANT TO BE FLOWN INDOORS AWAY FROM DIRECT SUNLIGHT AND WIND!

So fun to play with! Joseph Wren "jojo" #2010-12-02

This is by far the easiest and most durable mini copter I have come across. I bought mine directly from a Brookstone store and they offer a one year replacement plan for 5 bucks. If anything goes wrong with your helicopter (even if you crash it or whatever) you will get a new one free. I have already gotten mine replaced once because I lost my tail rotter in a crash. It comes with extra parts including a spare tail rotter and a spare set of blades. I just decided to take mine in so I would have some more spare parts. I have crashed my helicopter several times just messing around with it and having fun and it has yet to break. You can go up/down, left/ right and forward/back with the controls. I really don't have any cons about this little R/C helicopter other than when you have 2 of them flying at once, even when they are on different channels, they tend to interfere with one another.

    excellent MiraK #2011-01-10

I flew 4 channel helis a while back. so the learning curve was not steep. I cannot believe how durable and stable this little thingy is.
It takes 4-10 flights to get used to but then this is one of the best indoor micro helis.

pros: stable, long flying time, durable, some extra parts.
cons: weak lending gear, the forward/backward control is not smooth sensitive enough perhaps needs a better motor, slow charging time,

I'm on my 3rd one now. All 3 are flyable. Two are on charger while 3rd one is flying.
I'd like to compare them and yes they have personalities. the Gold/Yellow one is more active. The black/red ones are smoother. Some are louder some are quieter.

ps: here are some rules that I followed while learning

    1. Try to hold it in in constant hight with the tail facing. Heli goes faster down and slower up. It takes some time to get use to the throttle
    2. Balance rotation with +/- buttons so that the tail doesn't turn.
    3. Fly forward and backward NO turns. You'd notice that heli losses the height when flying backwards
    4. Fly forward and backward in a narrower space, You'd notice that you can keep it in a constant height easier
    5. Time to start with small circles and move to makings eights.
    6. Landing on small foot by foot spots. Try a stool landing
    7. Fun goes on ... :)

    Incredible Toy Alec Dublin #2010-12-27

Brookstone's RC helicopter is not only an fun toy, but really quite incredible. It is hard to believe that for less than $50 you can get a flying helicopter with three independent motors, that all provide enough lift for the helicopter to whirl around the room. I have played with a number of RC helicopters in the past, and none come close to Brookstone's uControl. For starters I have never seen a small RC copter that could hover in one place, they usually drift all over, however this one can actually maintain a hover. The uControl also has sirens and spot lights that you can activate from the remote control. The helicopter is very durable, which is a must since it takes a lot of crashes to get used to the controls. And best of all it can fly for a solid 10 minutes and charges quickly too. For a relatively inexpensive price tag, this helicopter will provide a lot of fun.

1 crash / min and still ticking JLO #2010-12-26

My 9yr old son got one of these for Christmas 2010, he/we flew it about 20 min - crashed probably 20 times and wiped out all of our spare blades. Now looking for a source to get spare parts. Found several sites that sell parts but its difficult if not impossible to determin what "brand" our is. There few if any sources for U-Control parts. If anyone has a suggesstion please post. Overall the helicopter held up pretty good (given some of the crashes we had) I'm surprised it not in a million pieces. Seems to be pretty rugged and easy to control.

good stress relief as it gets for $50 ODB #2011-02-01

This is a good price at $50 whn you look at the very efficient design of the chopper, including the user changeable spare parts kit it comes with, and metal frame. Its durable but not invinceable. A great stress reliever to just fly it around your living room and challenging to fly it down hallways and land it in strange places.
    Here are some tips:
1.Get the protection plan for it just in case.
2.Practice with it before you start crashing it- go up and down, then back and forth, then turning, before combining everything and smashing it from the ceiling to the wall to the floor. even though its a $50 chopper- treat it like a $500 chopper.
    3. When you know its going to crash, cut all power and let it just hit and fall naturally. It will last longer this way.

    Great Indoor Helicopter adm2amd #2011-01-09

After searching through all the mid price range indoor helicopters, I choose this one because of the good reviews and the reasonable price. I am very happy with this product. This helicopter has a rotor one the back which makes it easier to control and fly than the helicopters without the extra rotor. I wouldn't suggest buying a indoor helicopter without a rotor on the back.

    I would recommend this product.

RC HELICOPTER Richard E. Lafollett #2011-01-31

I was about ready to give up on helicopters having 3 others and more expensive. When I was in the Mall of America they were selling these and I almost bought one. I ordered one of these and glad I did, very easy to fly. Flying this has even helped me with the bigger ones I have. Thanks a great Helicopter.

Great toy Jeremy E. Duff "Very #2011-01-02

Wife got this for me as a Christmas gift, I flew it numerous times and the only downside is the lower blades broke several times after hard crashes. As a testament to it's good design and durability, one of the lower blades still has a chunk taken out of it, and it still flies straight and steady. My wife had the amazing foresight to purchase the replacement insurance, will use it when the blade finally breaks. My rc enthusiast friend has dozens of planes and heli's, some costing hundreds of dollars... he was so jealous that he went and bought one that same day. Word of wisdom, buy the extended warranty, it is worth it, enjoy!!!

Great Little Micro Copter D. Barnard #2011-01-01

Bought for me by my wife at Brookestone, this little helicopter is incredibly durable and reasonably easy to learn to fly, even for a complete novice. The built in gyro stabilization and torque eliminating, counter-rotating rotors make for an exceptionally stable platform. Mine flies for about 5-6 minutes on a 20-30 min. charge and has suffered the most spectacular crashes involving exercise equipment, ceiling fans and other obstacles without taking visible damage other than rotor blades. The high-intensity LEDs are remotely controlled and make the heli highly visible during night flights. After perhaps 20 flights and 50 crashes, it's becoming a bit twitchy due to leading edge blade damage and is ready for a change of rotors. A repair kit is included and more can be found at the manufacturers website at propelrctoys.net, where this product is listed as the Gyrocopter. All in all, one of the most satisfying and fun toys I've ever owned, my skill level is improving rapidly and I will be ready to upgrade when this little gem finally flies its last. Highly recommended!
